WHY CHOOSE WONDERFULLY WILD?

Combining my passion for nature with over a decade of experience in teaching early childhood special education, I am prepared to offer your child a unique early childhood experience full of wonder and adventure. We will be embarking on the 1000 Hours Outside challenge, studying the seasons, and exploring local flora and fauna up close and personal.  Teacher directed activities will be inspired by the interests of our students in both indoor and outdoor environments.  We will go far beyond simple memorization of foundational academic skills, instead focusing on problem solving, initiative, teamwork, communication, and confidence.  Do you want more than worksheets?  Does your child need novelty and movement?  Or maybe you just want your little one to experience the simple joys of childhood?  Contact Wonderfully Wild today!

MISSION AND PHILOSOPHY
The mission of Wonderfully Wild is to inspire the joy and wonder of early learning through exploration and discovery of the natural world.
Wonderfully Wild is dedicated to cultivating a sense of care and connection between children and the natural world. Children will learn through hands-on play in an integrated whole body approach. We will strive to be conscientious citizens through the careful and efficient use of our resources. Children will be guided towards resiliency, balance, and social growth while observing the connections that occur between all living creatures in the natural world.
CORE VALUES
All children have an innate desire to learn.

All behavior is communication.
We will play outside in every season and in all types of weather, wearing appropriate clothing and varying the length of time to suit the situation.
Children will interact with the natural world using all of their senses.
We will encourage environmental stewardship by reducing our carbon footprint, reusing and recycling materials, composting, and growing and foraging food as we are able.
Our indoor environment will mirror our appreciation for the natural world.
Children will be active participants in their education. Their interests will help guide our areas of study.
Children will be encouraged to take healthy risks in a safe environment.

All children will be loved, respected, and appreciated for the unique talents that they bring to our class.
